So what on earth is InspireQuest? The black sheep… who wandered far enough to bring stories back

InspireQuest was born from a dream, perhaps an audacious one, and is now slowly unfolding its wings.

It began with a belief that stories can heal, that creativity can lead us back to ourselves, and that genuine community can open doors we might never have found alone. It has been woven from many threads that have shaped my path. For much of my life I felt I never quite fit into one box. Let’s say I was the black sheep. I have left many things unfinished, changed direction more than once, and often found myself still searching for my path. Is it any wonder my first book was called Dreamers and Seekers?

Though perhaps I have come to see the black sheep simply as one who wandered far enough to bring stories back. Then I came across an Oscar Wilde quote that completely reframed how I saw myself:

“If you want to be a grocer, or a general, or a politician, or a judge, you will invariably become it; that is your punishment. If you never know what you want to be, if you live what some might call the dynamic life but what I will call the artistic life, if each day you are unsure of who you are and what you know you will never become anything, and that is your reward.”

Something in that set me free.

I trained in circus arts, fenced competitively, practiced belly dance, trained in Muay Thai, skied, and spent years saying yes to countless adventures through sport. I have always loved horses deeply, and I still hope one day to spend more time around them, perhaps even alongside those who share that love. I jumped from a bungee platform, worked as a hostess at remarkable events, appeared as an extra in television shows and adverts, and in one gloriously mad chapter even took part in beauty contests and fashion shows.

In my twenties I fell in love with motorbikes from the passenger seat. In my forties I finally began riding one myself. At one point I even moved countries, trusting adventure more than certainty, in what I thought would be a temporary escape, and which has somehow turned into an ongoing chapter since 2020.

Alongside the wilder chapters, I spent eleven years within an international company in Budapest, moving through different roles and quietly learning the craft of organisation, design, hospitality and creating meaningful experiences for others.

In England, that path unfolded through several chapters, from hosting in unique accommodation and later managing a jewellery shop, to a chapter still unfolding through the colourful world of holiday parks, alongside co-creating self discovery and creative workshops.

Somewhere between those very different worlds, I realised they were not separate threads at all, but part of the same tapestry. Nature, artistic souls and spaces where people gather meaningfully have always felt like my ideal environment. Looking back, I see those years were not separate from this path. They were preparing it. I am grateful for all of it now and see it as a gift rather than a distraction. And I hope my adventures are far from over.

I would not want this space to suggest I have life figured out. I don’t. I carry invisible struggles too, and perhaps that is part of what makes this work feel honest to me. InspireQuest was never born from perfection, but from searching, questioning and continuing anyway.

Writing first surfaced through healing, then through a love of stories... From a hunger for adventure and discovery. From journeys through landscapes, ideas and inner worlds. From encounters with extraordinary people. From the quiet conviction that sometimes even one small meeting can alter the direction of a life.

What we are building is not simply a series of workshops, but an evolving creative space for seekers, storytellers, artists and kindred spirits. A place where ideas meet, collaborations grow, and people can bring their gifts into something larger than themselves.

It is also a space where I hope to share the words and wisdom of mentors whose thinking has shaped me, and may resonate with others drawn to similar values. Through self discovery workshops, reflective writing, books, creative gatherings and future retreats, InspireQuest is growing into a gentle yet powerful space for inspiration, belonging and transformation.

At its heart this is about helping people reconnect with their own voice, their imagination, and perhaps with dreams they may have set aside somewhere along the way.

We are still at the beginning. Still shaping, still learning, still dreaming. But perhaps that is part of the beauty.

And if something in this vision resonates with you, perhaps you are already part of its unfolding. Your ideas, your presence and your support help this dream grow.

Some things are meant to grow organically, like stories slowly finding their own form.

What began as a dream is becoming a living thing. And we are only beginning to unfold our wings. 🦋
